Lord Botetourt High School (LBHS) is one of two high schools in Botetourt County, Virginia. It was built in 1958, in suburban Daleville, Virginia, opening the fall of 1959. It currently has 73 faculty members serving over 1,000 students grades 9-12. LB, as it is commonly known, is named after Lord Botetourt, the governor of Virginia from 1768 to 1770. LB's athletic teams are known as the "Cavaliers" and the school colors are Scarlet, Gray, and White. ==Mission statement== The school's mission statement reads: ''The mission of Lord Botetourt High School is to enable students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to be successful in higher education and employment; motivated by integrity, concern, and appreciation of life, and a love for learning; adept in a society of ever-changing technological advances and challenges; involved as responsible, productive citizens in their community; aware of the moral, political, and environmental issues confronting nations today; and to be tolerant of cultural differences.
